ReoriginLabs

Server Offsite Recovery Privacy Policy

This policy applies only to ReoriginLabs Server Offsite Recovery.

It does not govern the ReoriginLabs Matrix community or other ReoriginLabs services. Those services maintain separate privacy policies where applicable.

Purpose

ReoriginLabs Server Offsite Recovery is a private backup and disaster-recovery application used solely by its operator. It is not a public service and does not provide accounts to third parties.

Google data accessed

The application accesses Google Drive files and folders necessary to maintain the designated offsite backup repository. This access is used through rclone with authorization granted by the Google account operating the backup repository.

How Google data is used

Google Drive access is used only to read, create, update, list, and retrieve encrypted Restic repository data required for backup, verification, and disaster recovery.

How backup data is stored

Backup contents are encrypted by Restic before they are stored in Google Drive. OAuth credentials and backup repository credentials are stored on systems controlled by the application operator and are not intentionally made public.

Sharing

Google user data accessed by this application is not sold, provided to advertisers, or intentionally shared with third parties. It is used only for the backup and recovery functions described in this policy.

Retention and deletion

Backup repository data is retained according to the operator's backup and disaster-recovery policies. Repository data may be deleted when it is no longer required. Authorization may also be revoked through the associated Google account.

Security

Backup contents are encrypted before offsite storage. Access credentials are restricted to systems used to operate or recover the backup service. No security control can eliminate all risk, but access is intentionally limited to the backup and recovery purpose described here.
